Major problems of Bangladesh : Population Growth

Population Growth in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a small country. The total land area of Bangladesh is 1,47,570 square kilometers. But it is densely populated. It is the eighth largest country of the world in population. Its population is over 17 corers. About 1151 people live per square kilometer. The growth rate of population is 21.1 per thousand. It is a high rate. If our population grows at such a high rate, it will surely be double in the next twenty to twenty five years. The additional people will need many additional things. They will need food , clothes , houses , schools , hospitals etc. But Bangladesh cannot afford to meet all these additional things. So , we should take preventive steps to control the growth of our population . Otherwise all hopes and joys of our people will be nipped in the bud .

The real "Country Maker" of Bangladesh : Farmer

Farmer
An ideal farmer is a very important person in our society . Generally , in our country , he lives in a village . His house is made of corrugated iron sheets or straws. An ideal farmer lives a very simple life. He earns his livelihood by the sweat of his brow. He works from morning till evening. He gets up very early in the morning and takes a little breakfast. He goes to his field with his wooden plough and a pair of bullocks. He cultivates and prepares his land with simple hand-made tools. Sometimes he is too busy that he cannot make time to go home for the noonday meal. He has both pleasures and pains in his life. He gets pleasures when he has a good harvest. But he gets pains in when his crops are destroyed by droughts, floods or cyclones. Though a farmer woks hard he does not get enough to eat. He lives from hand to mouth. He also suffers from many diseases. An ideal farmer is an asset to the country. He contributes a lot to the economy of the country. So all of us should respect him.

Major Problems of Bangladesh : 1.Load Shedding

Load shedding means the suspension of the supply of electricity for a certain period . It has become a regular affair in Bangladesh. Load shedding caused for different causes. The insufficient production of electricity in our country is the main cause of load shedding. Misuse of electricity is the another cause. Illegal connection of load shedding is also responsible for load shedding. on the other hand, government is not sincere to produce electricity in proportion to our demand. So due to load shedding production in mills and factories decreases. Fresh food taken in the refrigerator gets rotten. Load shedding at night encourages the miscreants in their violent works. It also disturbs the study of the students. After all, load shedding affects the economy of our country . So our government should establish more plans and power houses to solve is problem . Illegal connection and system loss should also be stopped .

Bangladesh is a land of uncommon natural beauty with her murmuring river, green fields , trees , flowers and fruits . In the same way, her birds also have added to her beauty and charm.
There are various kinds of birds in Bangladesh. They are different in colour , shape , size , habit and nature.
A detail of the different kinds of birds is as follows :-
The crows and the the kites are teasing birds. They are hated by all. The crows are uglier in their habits than the kites. They steal away chickens, fish etc., whenever they get chance. The crows are very cunning. The kites also tease us.
Of the singing birds, the cuckoo is the most popular. It appears in our country at the beginning of the spring when flowers bloom and nature looks beautiful and happy . It hides itself behind leaves. It is noted for for its sweet singing . It is called the harbinger of the spring. The Poet says--
"O Cuckoo! shall I call thee Bird,
                         Or but a wandering Voice?"
(To the Cuckoo / William Wordsworth.)
The other song birds are the bou-katah-kao, the shalik, the shyama and the doel etc. These birds are are also are also very nice to look at.
The parrot, the mayna , the chandan, the kakatooa , the martin are called talking birds. They are nice looking . They can imitate human voice if they are trained.
The dove , the pigeon, the heron , the snipe. the teal and the pankauri are called the game birds. They are famous for their tasty flesh. They are found in almost every part of Bangladesh.
The hawk an the kite are the birds of prey. These are the most notorious . They have keen eyes, Sharpe nails and claws and a sweeping nature.
There are many other common birds like swallow, sparrow and babui. The babui is called tailor bird. The vulture is another common bird.
Bangladesh is blessing of Allah on earth. Here birds in various ways do good to us. We should not kill the birds indiscriminately. They should be protected as our national asset. They enhance the beauty of country. However, we should be sympathetic to them and make Bangladesh a happy homeland.

National Flag

Every Free country has its own National flag. Bangladesh is also a free country. So we have our own national flag. The proportion of the length and breadth is 10 : 6 and the radius of the flag is one fifth of its length . It symbolizes our sovereignty , integrity and freedom. It has a grass-green background with a red sun placed at the centre. The green background means the eternal green of Bangladesh. The red sun is the symbol of a new born nation. It depicts the bloody war of independence . The sun also means a rising nation . Everyone pays respect to his national flag. A national lag can be a great inspiration to everyone who loves his country. The national flag is sacred. It represents our country's honour. it is hoisted on solemn occasions . But unfortunately, we are using this flag on trivial occasions. consequently, most people do not show due respect to it. They disrespect their own country . So, the Government should protect it and we should honour our motherland by showing proper respect to our national flag.

Natural Beauties of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a nothing but a land of green nature. Her six seasons come by turns and adorn her with colours. Her numerous rivers, her high hills, her green fields of crops are really charming. Bangladesh is criss-crossed by many rivers. They are flowing over the different parts of beauty for our country.

There are high hills in Sylhet and Chittagong Hill Tracts. There are also vast fields of plain land in different parts of the country. We have some particular places which are famous for their boundless natural beauty. Cox's Bazar , Sylhet , the Shundarbans , Bandarbans , Rangamati , Kuakata , Kaptai and Khagrachari are special among them. Cox's Bazar has the world's longest  sandy beach. The sunset on the western horizon presents an enchanting scene. The tea gardens, ever green hills , Jaflong etc. in Sylhet have added much to the beauty of nature . Then the shundarbans forest is full of 'Shundari' and other trees and animals like the spotted deer, monkey, crocodiles, the Royal Bengal Tigers and so on.

Bangladesh is a land of six seasons. Each season presents her own beauty. In summer, delicious fruits like mangoes, jack fruits, lichies etc. are available. Some sweet smelling flowers bloom in the summer evening. In the rainy season, the rivers and canals are full to the brim. Cattle, houses and crops are washed away by the flood . Paddy and jute grow well in the rainy season. In the autumn, the sky looks deep blue and clear. In the late autumn, the fields are full of golden crops. Dew falls in the early morning. During the winter nature looks dull and old. Some vegetables such as beans , tomatoes, cauliflowers, cabbages etc. are available in plenty. Warm cloths are used. In the spring, flowers bloom and birds sing sweetly. Gentle breeze blows and nature looks fresh. It is the king of seasons.

Indeed, there is an endless flow of natural beauty in our Bangladesh all the year round. It refreshes our mind and body. Therefore, if we want to enjoy the natural beauty of Bangladesh, we have to go to the villages . We are proud of our country.
